Auction for the Arts

Visual, musical and performance art experiences are building blocks of education.

Creating and appreciating the arts strengthens problem solving, creativity, and critical-thinking skills and connects children to each other and a diverse global society. And yet the arts are chronically underfunded by our financially strapped school district.

In response to this, the Albert M. Greenfield School Home & School Association chose to make the arts the focus of our upcoming 10th Annual Auction & Social.  Greenfield’s Auction for the Arts will take place on Friday, March 31, and funds raised will go to support and enhance Greenfield’s music and arts programs.

Greenfield - A Neighborhood School

For more than 35 years, Greenfield, a K-8 public school, has maintained high academic standards for its culturally diverse student body and enjoyed  an active, parent-led Home & School Association that addresses the challenges of budget cuts that impact the school.  Earlier this school year, Greenfield was ranked No. 2 out of 88 Philadelphia public K-8 schools for our high performance based on data from the state’s Department of Education.

Greenfield’s Annual Auction & Social is the school’s major fundraising event of the year and attracts more than 250 attendees.  Among the goals this year are a new audio system for the stage, musical instruments and cases, supplies and technology for the Art and Drama programs and more.
